Abstract
Hypersexulality has occasionally been reported in patients with dysfunction in the hypothalamus and the temporal and frontal lobes. Moreover, hypersexuality after cerebrovascular disease is relatively rare; however, when it occurs, the lesion is usually in the right hemisphere. We report an 80 year-old man who abruptly developed bizzare neuropsychological disturbances after left frontal lobe infarction. He showed aggressive and violent behavior, executive dysfunction, in addition to hypersexuality. These disinhibited and hypersexual changes in behavior might be an expression of a frontal-subcortical circuit dysfunction, especially the orbitofrontal circuit.
